Description

Hello, thank-you for stopping by to take a look at my blog.

Apologies in advance! I am not very disciplined when it comes to this blogging lark so if I seem a little disorganised , or i have not updated it for months, even years.. it is most probably due to my lack of IT skills/ organisation/ lazyness!

Love Lottie x

"Campaign Against Crap Craft"

Oh  oh! I have only gone and done it again!..booked myself in for another craft fait on June 2nd for "Reetsweet" at the Corn Exchange, Leeds. I am actually chuffed to bits as it is subject to submission so was really plesed when I got the message to say I was 'in'...Making hat at the ready again!

"She's electric..."

I can't believe how quickly the weeks are speeding by and how (hopefully) Spring will soon be upon us-although judging by all the rain so far it is hard to believe...still "April showers bring May Flowers"! Let's hope so!!
I spent the weekend doing something totally out of my arty/crafty comfort zone....Neon Lighting! I bought my best friend a 2.5 hr course as part of her xmas present and I went along too...Not something I would ever have considered doing but it was totally awe inspiring...quite magical how glass, heat, gas and electricity can create something so hypnotic. Needless to say I have booked myself back on a 1 day intensive course to hopefully create my own piece of Neon artwork..

Easter Holidays

As I was on School Holidays for 2 weeks I decided to return to Whitby, North Yorkshire for a few days. On arrival the weather was beautiful and the drive over the North Yorkshire moors was amazing. However, we experienced brilliant sunshine, a storm and snow all in 4 days?! There was even a powercut due to a snow plough coming off the road on the moors and bringing down a power line!! It was all quite exciting though, drinking tea by candle light in the lovely tearoom "Sanders Yard".
I also made a couple of new discoveries..." Dotty for Vintage" (as the name suggests-vintage shop!) run by Trudie, who bizarrely went to the same high school as me (sure is a small world!) she has some wonderful things, including retro flasks and some great 'Brexton' hampers. I ended up treating myself to a little Meakin Jug in my favourite 'topic' pattern.
Another great find was La Rosa Hotel(see photos), situated on West Cliff, the building actually sports a blue plaque as the original hotel was where author Lewis Carroll would stay when in Whitby. La Rosa is a wonderful boutique hotel , featuring themed rooms...we were lucky enough to be shown around the room-WOW! and had afternoon tea in the parlour...I can feel an overnight stay there coming on VERY soon!
