As I have been concentrating on sewing and making things for my upcoming stall at 'Reetsweet' on June 2nd, it has been a while since I have got around to adding new vintage goodies to my etsy shop. I found a few hours last night to sit down and upload some pics...here is a little taster..a few Jubilee goodies thrown in for good measure!

Hello, thank-you for stopping by to take a look at my blog.
Apologies in advance! I am not very disciplined when it comes to this blogging lark so if I seem a little disorganised , or i have not updated it for months, even years.. it is most probably due to my lack of IT skills/ organisation/ lazyness!

"She's electric..."
I can't believe how quickly the weeks are speeding by and how (hopefully) Spring will soon be upon us-although judging by all the rain so far it is hard to believe...still "April showers bring May Flowers"! Let's hope so!!
I spent the weekend doing something totally out of my arty/crafty comfort zone....Neon Lighting! I bought my best friend a 2.5 hr course as part of her xmas present and I went along too...Not something I would ever have considered doing but it was totally awe inspiring...quite magical how glass, heat, gas and electricity can create something so hypnotic. Needless to say I have booked myself back on a 1 day intensive course to hopefully create my own piece of Neon artwork..

Easter Holidays

As I was on School Holidays for 2 weeks I decided to return to Whitby, North Yorkshire for a few days. On arrival the weather was beautiful and the drive over the North Yorkshire moors was amazing. However, we experienced brilliant sunshine, a storm and snow all in 4 days?! There was even a powercut due to a snow plough coming off the road on the moors and bringing down a power line!! It was all quite exciting though, drinking tea by candle light in the lovely tearoom "Sanders Yard".
I also made a couple of new discoveries..." Dotty for Vintage" (as the name suggests-vintage shop!) run by Trudie, who bizarrely went to the same high school as me (sure is a small world!) she has some wonderful things, including retro flasks and some great 'Brexton' hampers. I ended up treating myself to a little Meakin Jug in my favourite 'topic' pattern.
Another great find was La Rosa Hotel(see photos), situated on West Cliff, the building actually sports a blue plaque as the original hotel was where author Lewis Carroll would stay when in Whitby. La Rosa is a wonderful boutique hotel , featuring themed rooms...we were lucky enough to be shown around the room-WOW! and had afternoon tea in the parlour...I can feel an overnight stay there coming on VERY soon!

Love Craft
Phew, what a brilliant but tiring day! My first venture into the field of craft fairs and I am so chuffed by everyone's positive reaction! I must admit, I really enjoyed 'playing shop' for the day and have certainly been bitten by the bug. I am not sure when I will do my next one or where but I have certainly been encouraged to do more. I am slightly gutted that my first sale was a bag I was going to keep....Typical!

It's been a while!
I have been such a busy little bee that I haven't had time to update the blog! Anyway, I have eventually found a moment to do just that..so here is what I have been up to:
1) I attended the Donna Wilson Cushion workshop a few weeks ago at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. What a great few hours! Attendeed were able to choose between two of Donna's signature pieces...a stormy rain cloud cushion or a fox face cushion (you were allowed to add your own twist!) I decided to do the sweet little rain cloud, although I must admit it was pretty difficult to decide! Pictured below is my effort.... It was lovely to meet Donna, such a lovely, sweet , down to earth person! See my effort and Donna here!
2) I also managed to get my hands on one of Donna's arrows when her exhibition finished at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park last weekend....Very sad to see it go BUT very happy to get my lovely arrow!
3) I have been very quiet on here lately as it is LOVE CRAFT at the Barnsley Civic next weekend, I cannot believe how quickly it seems to have crept up...My poor sewing machine has been on non-stop for the past few weeks...Hopefully I will manage to sell something!

Hello 2012!

Goodbye 2011 and hello shiny, new 2012! I haven't made any new years resolutions but I am going to try and get more 'crafty' this year. I have a few things in the pipeline...Donna Wilson workshop at YSP in February, a neon lighting workshop in the spring and I have just signed up to do a craft fair in March... It is a long time since I went down that route but it will hopefully get me into gear for adding some handcrafted items for the little etsy shop. So many ideas, so little time!

Donna Wilson at YSP

I went to see the new Donna Wilson exhibiton at the Sculpture Park this morning. Miserable day so the park was lovely and quiet; perfect for a mooch without the hoards of folk.
Donna Wilson's work is so bright and quirky, it really brought a smile to my face and made me want to pick my knitting needles up again!
As a little Christmas treat for myself (again!) I have booked onto Donna's Cushion workshop in February..can't wait!

Aprons and Rock music...yes, honestly!

Well what a funny ol' weekend I have had! Talk about extremes... On Saturday evening I went into Town to see AC/DC tribute band 'Dirty DC'. According to 'Kerrang' magazine they are one of the UK's best tribute bands!..I like most kinds of music and love a good 'mosh' but to be honest i am not that clued up on AC/DC. I went along as it was as part of a friends birthday night out and I can honestly say I enjoyed it! I especially liked the bassist in the blonde wig!! The apron part? ..well I have decided to part with a few lovely textile finds this weekend too. I find it very hard to pass on vintage textiles and the 3 little aprons I have listed on Etsy are especially lovely...but I guess you can only wear one at once!

Rob Ryan at YSP

Well I had been awaiting this day for quite sometime.. Rob Ryan's new book signing at the Yorkshire Sculture Park. Before joining the humongous queue to meet Rob, I decided to have a browse around the Jaume Plensa exhibition in the underground gallery, WOW! it was amazing. A little eerie and also very calming...which unfortunately was spent whilst waiting in the Rob Ryan queue!..nearly 2 hours of queing was rewarded with a chat with Rob, what a lovely man!

Rain, rain go away.....
What a miserable day! Such a change from last weekends heat wave...I am now sat with the radiators on, oh well at least it means I can be all cosy whilst listing my latest things in my little shop...check them out here http://www.etsy.com/shop/lovelottie
Other than that, I haven't really been up to anything exciting....I AM looking forward however to meeting Mr Rob Ryan at the YSP next saturday for his latest book signing!

Thank Crunchie It's Friday...well, almost!

What a week it has been! Last weekend was spent with 78 11 year olds on an outdoors residential. It was an action packed time, zip wires, 3G swing and leap Of Faith to name but a few activities. Needless to say, I have spent most of this week at work in a daze...Mind you, the fabulous (although somewhat freaky!) weather has helped put a spring in my step.
Oh yeah, I still found time to post a few more goodies in the little shop too!http://www.etsy.com/shop/lovelottie

Ice, ice baby!....
It is definately getting a little chillier and the nights are drawing in..one positive though is that it is ice hockey season again! I went to see the Sheffield Steelers yesterday evening with the familia and the other half.
First game of the season and new team set up, but they won 4-1 against the Dundee Stars. It was a great game, some slick passing and some fisticuffs from both sides...A great start to the season, long may it last!

Another day, another treasury list!
Etsy is beginning to take over but I love it! I woke up this morning to find one of my items added to another treasury list...it's a great list, really unusual.
This afternoon I am going to visit my best friend and indulge in a bit of gossip and girly time..I can't believe that the holidays are coming to an end so intend to pack the remainder with as much as I can!

And there's more!......
What a busy day it's been! I have been photographing and listing all day but at last my little Etsy shop seems to have a nice selection of items. I also got my first 'treasury' listing today which has resulted in another sale! I really hope that i get the time to make and list some handmade stuff at some point but at least it's a start!

love lottie on Etsy!
Etsy here I come!.... I have been thinking for ages about starting a little online venture and I have at last joined Etsy. The summer hols have given me an ideal opportunity to get photographing and listing all my little re-found treasures that I have collected over the years and it is about time I shared them (and made room for some more!)
Please take a look, I appreciate any constructive feedback!
